Here are some updated belly photos. We are very behind in updates...we had a shower in Atlanta with Johnny's family, one with my family and family friends, one with church, and one with my work. We are so blessed and thankful for everyone's help and involvement. Thanks so much! McKenzie is due in 4 weeks!

February 15th, 2010

I want to start this post out by saying "Yes Kenny I know it's a couple days late"! Good now that I go that out of my system.

Saturday Feruary 13th, 2010 Heather, My mom (Peggy), Heather's mom (Debbie) and myself took a trip down to Atlanta Georgia for our first official baby shower. The shower was given by my aunt Pat, aunt Pattie and uncle Gerry at Gerry and Pattie's home in Atlanta. About 16 people attended, played games, and ate some outstanding food.
It was effident from the start that Heather, McKenzie and I have no shortfall of family and friends who love us and are really rejoicing McKenzie's future arrival. Of course we did receive some wonderful shower gifts and for that all three of us say THANK YOU!

Monday Heather and I went back to the Doctor's office for our third and FINAL attempt on getting our 3D4D pictures of McKenzie and wouldn't you know it the third time really ISN'T a charm. Just when you think she has nothing else to hide behind she found her Umbilical cord and once again eluded the camera despite our very best attempts. At this point in the pregnancy and seeing first hand how stubborn our child will be we have decided not to go for attempt 4. We didn't come out with Pictures, but she has her first baby story.

The only other development this week is the completion of the nursery. The crib is put together, dresser and armour are up and quickly becoming stocked with cloths, diapers, wipes, stuffed animals and the many other things she will need and want.

February 12th, 2010 Ultrasound update

Today Heather and I made our way back to the Doctor's office in hopes of getting our "peek" of McKenzie via 3D4D ultrasound. Unfortunately, McKenzie decided not to participate and held her hand and arm directly in front of her face for the entire visit. Of course we are both a little disappointed, however the nurse was very kind and we are going to try again this coming Monday morning 2/15 @ 9A.
McKenzie's estimated weight at 30 weeks is 3 lbs 11 oz, and heartrate of 144 bpm. They didn't measure her length this visit, however Heather's (stomach) measures at 31 weeks and the doctor made his first comment about not wanting Heather to have a 10 lb baby (neither does Heather) =)...
Heather was right on target with her weight, blood pressure and blood sugar, so mama is doing good.

Nursery Update: The nursery furniture has finally arrived and we couldn't be happier. At this point we have only been able to pick up the dresser and crib and are making plans to get the armour after our trip to Atlanta this weekend. The crib is together and the bedding is already in place.

Tomorrow Heather, myself, Debbie (Heather's mom), and Peggy (my mom) will be leaving to attend our first baby shower in Atlanta with several of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We have been looking forward to this trip for many reasons, but none greater than the opportunity to visit with family and initiate this involvment of them into McKenzie's life.

*Mom note*: Mom's new pleasure is to feel McKenzie get the hiccups during the day, but has quickly learned that her daughters acrobatic flips and spins aren't as comfortable or "neat feeling" as they once were.

*Dad note*: With each passing day I look forward more and more to the arrival of McKenzie into our household. My simple pleasure during this pregnancy has been able too feel McKenzie move and flip each evening, although it was a little weird at first =).

We will do our very best to post 3D4D pictures Monday assuming the "3rd time really is the charm".

Other Pictures (Dec.)

20 and 24 weeks

We are a bit over due on updates, but not a lot has happened since the last post. We are now 27 weeks along and we (Heather) is starting to feel some pressure to get things done! We have the nursery painted, clothes and car seat, stroller and swing coverings washed, and are registered. McKenzie seems to move more and more and I think she is planning on being a gymnast with all of her flips. I finally realized today what that funny feeling is that I've been getting often...the hiccups. Although my back has started to hurt more often, I have loved this part of pregnancy! We will go back to the doctor on Jan. 28 for the blood sugar test and for a 3D4D ultra sound.
